Goodro Lumber originally began in East Middlebury, Vermont as a sawmill and hardware store, owned by Harry Goodro. When he retired in 1969, he left the business to his son Rodney, and sons-in-law Richard Perry and Wyman Thomas. In 1970, they built another store in Killington to serve the growing ski community. In 1975, Michael Perry and his brother-in-law William Shaw were brought in to operate the Killington location.
In 1978, Mike and Bill purchased the Killington location from Mike’s father and uncles. In 1984, they expanded the retail operation by adding retail space and bringing in the True Value line of hardware. Together, they operated the business until 2009, when Mike retired.
Today, Goodro Lumber employs nine people and operates a fleet of modern delivery trucks. Our service area is typically within a 50 mile radius, but we regularly go beyond that. We’ve gone as far as Long Island, Nantucket, Lake George and the Canadian border.
We are located in the heart of the Green Mountains at 4489 U.S. Route 4 in Killington, VT.
